A search of history, or even personal memories, will reveal that there are people who claim to be Christians who act in an unchristlike manner. That is, they "talk the talk" but may not "walk the walk". Some unbelievers say that churches are full of hypocrites. (So are grocery stores.) Well, it has been said that churches are hospitals for sinners, not museums for saints. Although all of us who profess to follow Jesus display failings, we are human, after all. The word humanist  has been used in different ways, usually in a benevolent way. People have stated that they are humanists because they believe in the decency and beauty of humanity. Indeed, humanists can be involved in humanitarian relief efforts. Humanism is religious in nature, and that has a very dark side. These humanists believe that they have no need for God, who probably does not even exist — but they hate him anyway. Many times atheists acquire political power and it becomes disastrous for all concerned. Strangely, they think they are good without God. Decades ago, I remember my parents speaking in a disapproving manner about a marriage between black and white people. There was something about staying with "their own kind" because the couple would trouble from both sides. Nowadays, mixed marriages are common, but they still may receive some flak. For millennia, people have had negativity toward different groups due to pigment, culture, and other things. Racism sounded scientific because of Darwinism and it grew tremendously because of it. As I was leaving town, riding east out Folly Road, I came across with Rusty Swingset, foreman of the Darwin Ranch up near Deception Pass. People consider humans to be animals, and there is a sense that is true. We are classified that way because it is expedient. While similarities are used by believers in minerals-to-mother evolution as evidence for their view, the evidence also points to the common Designer. Since we are animals, we should act like them. Such an idea fails from the get-go — except in sexual activity. Secularists believe we should spread around our genes, so promiscuity can be "scientifically" excused. People have ideas about what Heaven is like, but much of those are from media mythologies. People have wings, walking on clouds, have halos...storytelling. Religious figures in classical art were depicted with halos, so that may be a source for the myth. Reality is far different and more awesome. It has been almost two years since my wife died, and I will meet her in Heaven along with others I knew who have gone before in a grand reunion. The way someone views the world includes ethics and morality, origins, expectations for the future, and more are contained in their worldviews. Christians who have a biblical worldview believe that it is true from the first verse and are supposed to live accordingly. A materialistic worldview (all that matters is matter, no God exists) does not have a consistent standard of morality . People may think that evolution is a subject for biologists to discuss and creation is for science-denying theologians and religious fanatics, but those are false characterizations. Origins permeates many areas of our lives. Worldviews determine how we process information. Evolution is materialistic. One of the most popular "gotcha" questions from scoffers (the kind of question they presume cannot be answered properly) is, "Where did Cain get his wife?" The most famous thing about Cain is that he killed his brother. Also, that he lived in the land of Nod as part of his punishment . In some ways, liberal  implies being generous and having a kind heart. Politically, liberalism has changed its meaning over the years, so classical liberalism is very different from leftist modern liberalism. Theologically, liberalism does not hold to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible. Liberalism can emphasize dialogue, which may seem reasonable on the surface. Dialogue is important for clarifying points and determining viewpoints. Misotheists often level a complaint about Christianity that there is no free will, sometimes indicating that God is a marionettist pulling our strings. When we sin, he punishes us even though it is not our fault. Admittedly, questions about free will have been debated by Christians for centuries. It may seem fair and reasonable for mainstream evangelicals to ask biblical creationists to compromise on literal six-day creation. Indeed, sometimes we are seen as a niche group in an offshoot of the Fundamentalist movement. It is ironic that the Fundamentalists were not exactly biblical creationists .
