Juneteenth and Biblical Christians

To be direct, I had never heard of Juneteenth until it came up under Joe Biden's time as the American President. Since leftists spend a great deal of time and money courting votes and support of black people, I thought it was another stunt. I was wrong in some ways.

People are not given accurate or complete history, and "Lincoln freed the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation" is one example. When he made his statements, everyone — including the Confederacy — did not simply turn the slaves loose. Also, remember that news traveled slowly back then.

The Union Army went into Confederate States and made certain that the Emancipation Proclamation was known — over two years after Abraham Lincoln said it! General Gordon Granger made the news known in Galveston Bay, Texas, on Jun 19, 1865. That was the last slavery holdout, so there were no more excuses. A few months later the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution was passed, so slavery became officially illegal.

Celebrations and observances occurred through the years, so folks like me were suspicious when Juneteenth became a big deal in 2021. Leftist organizations and identity politics were going strong. However, legislation passed the Senate unanimously and also passed the House of Representatives by a huge margin.

Like others, I support the person, not a particular party. The Republican Party far more closely aligns with the views of conservative Christians than the Democrat and other parties. (Even so, there are lying four flushers in all of them.) Slavery? It never ended.

Nor did it begin with Africans being sold out by their countrymen and shipped to England, the Americas, and other places. The word slave has a root in the word for Slav, as Slavic people were enslaved by Byzantine Greek, Germanic, and Muslim traders. Muslims are actively engaging in slavery today.

People are slaves to sin, and that can be manifested in the desire to use history (both real and inaccurate versions) and observances to promote their "race." No, old son, there is only one race according to the Bible. A Bible-believing Christian may have a great deal to think about when dealing with whether or not to participate in Juneteenth observances.
Though all US states celebrate June 19th as a legal holiday or observance, Juneteenth was ushered into national focus when it became a federally recognized holiday in 2021. . .

But what seemed like bipartisan legislation sparked heated discussions of race and woke agendas in America. Some argued whether this now federally recognized holiday should replace the celebration of Independence Day. Others considered celebrating both. Some argued to ignore Juneteenth altogether in defiance of woke societal pressures.
