Creflo Dollar, Luxury Jets, and Life on Mars

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen If you scroll through those religious channels on your television, you'll have the disappointing experience of finding quite a few " Word of Faith " heretics (I was into that movement myself for a while, years ago) but precious little in the way of solid biblical teaching. One of the more notorious of those blab-it-n-grab-it preachers is Creflo Dollar. He made big news when he said he wanted a $65,000,000 USD Gulfstream G650 jet . Naturally, there was a huge outcry, and the campaign was shut down . Here's the part that nobody else will tell you, it's been our secret, but now it's time to let you in on it. God put a burr under my saddle by giving me a direct revelation. He spoke to me, saying, "You have two of those jets at The Question Evolution Project . Give him one, and watch me bless you!" Well, we do have a second one that we're not even using, it's on an airstrip at our secret second headquarters, near the

Different Worlds of Ministry

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Some pastors of more traditional churches consider Web and parachurch ministries (especially creation science ministries) to be unimportant, or even harmful. There are people who consider these ministries extremely helpful, and feel no need to attend a church. Is there a balance between the two views? Yes. The traditional concept of "going to a church building" is not exactly biblical. There is no concept of attending First Church morning for Sunday School, the main service, and Wednesday night prayer meeting (with the occasional potluck supper). The early church met in homes, catacombs, or wherever they could, especially during times of persecution (like many church groups in atheist-run or Mohammedan-run countries). However, free societies have church buildings and regular meeting times. Although not supported by Scripture, there is nothing essentially wrong with that long-standing concept, either. Likewise, there is no biblical support for par

Alien Messages and Evolution

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen The topic of aliens from outer space can make as much sense as a cattle stampede. Many people believe that there are extraterrestrial visitors who traveled amazingly vast distances through impossible-to-survive conditions in outer space to visit us. What for, just to say "Howdy?" Others reject space aliens as products of imagination, psychotic episodes, mistakes, or are faked. Then you hear about how UFOs are secret government flying machines. See? Orderly as a stampede. To dismiss UFOs and aliens outright is to impugn the integrity of many respectable people. Something  happened to various people, and others did  see something in the sky. By my cogitations, those space ships are probably military aircraft — and something sinister as well. Those visitations by extraterrestrials? They're not from outer space. If ET says he's from out there, he's lying. Having reluctantly abandoned my belief that we are visited by space strangers, I

Creation Sunday — Why Do Anti-Creationists Scream So Loudly?

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Today is Creation Sunday . It was created in response to misleading atheist Michael Zimmerman 's call to apostasy called the " Clergy Letter Project ". Creation Sunday is an effort to get Bible-believing Christians to take a stand for the truth, and to educate themselves on the importance of Genesis as well as how science supports creation and refutes evolution. Why is it that those owlhoots feel the need to slap leather with those of us who believe the Bible, to recruit compromisers, and to evangelize for atheism? You'd think that they'd be content to be "right" in their own eyes (Psalm 14:1) and their rejection of God, even though they know he exists (Romans 1:18-23). They insist that we're "wrong", but they have to protect "science" (fallaciously equivocating "evolution" with "science"), and are not content to leave us alone, nor show a modicum of respect for people who believ

Emotionally-Based Belief Systems

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Edited January 2, 2015 Many times in social media posts, videos, articles and so on from anti-creationists and militant atheists, they act like they're doing the world a favor by ridiculing Christians and creationists. Many will go on crusades to rid the world of that nebulous phantom of "religion" that " causes all the wars ", or attack biblical creationists for the sake of protecting "science" (they are not protecting "science" at all, they conflate their religious views of evolution with science, and try to protect that from scrutiny). Purveyors of "reason" use very little of it, and rely on emotionalism and bigotry to persuade people of their views. Many of these keyboard warriors are unwilling to be obstreperous in person, saving their vituperative remarks for safe locations and (frequent) anonymity. It's mighty interesting to see that people who deny God (without whom logic and science are i

Why Do Cults Shun Christmas?

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Edited 10-23-2015 Most Christians (and many non-Christians) celebrate Christmas. There are some Christians who choose to avoid it. Unfortunately, there are also legalistic, judgmental Christians who scorn those of us who choose to celebrate, but this is based on a misunderstanding of Scripture and history (and maybe a prideful desire to feel "better" than others). Some of those people are influenced by atheistic dishonesty and cult propaganda. I've seen cults actually start with a foundation of blatant lies, and then build an "argument" against Christmas with "logic" that is cringe-worthy. Some legalistic Christians (as well as the Jehovah's Witnesses) proudly assert that everyone else is wrong and they  are right in avoiding Christmas. They assert alleged pagan associations with the holiday, and even torture the text of Jeremiah 10:1-16 to get it to confess that Christmas trees are evil. Except that their use is a

Cats, Computers, and God

by Cowboy Bob Sorensen What could the three subjects in the title possibly have in common? Not much, really. But there are  two things  from the Unusual Analogies Department that you may find interesting.  Also, just for fun, this is scheduled to publish at 10:11 AM Eastern Time on December 13, 2014. Yup: 10:11, 12-13-14 . It won't happen again. Cats "Going to check my mail now". Basement Cat "using" my wife's computer. How we got our Basement Cat is a long story. But there was a time that we didn't get along, and I didn't want the beast in the apartment. Now we're quite close.   I prefer the names that I put on her instead of her "real" name, but never mind about that now. Some people dislike cats because of their independent spirit, call them "sneaky", are annoyed because cats are cats and not dogs, or other reasons. When I was much younger, I complained to my mother about our cat and made a stupid accusation
